Always wanted to go on African safaris and see big game animals in their natural habitat, but youre not sure where to go or whats involved? Youre not alone. Everyone has to have a first time at being on safari and in our experience, once youve tried it, youll be back to try it again. Where else in the world can you safely get close to natures big beasts in the wild and witness their majesty and independence?
The migration of the wildebeest is one of the natural worlds most spectacular sights and every year, visitors from all over the globe flock to East Africa to see it happen. It takes place in the Serengeti of Tanzania, where youre also likely to spot gazelle and zebra at the same time. Kenyas Masai Mara area is also close by and a great place for observing big cats.
The dry season here is June to October and a convenient time to take a game drive, given that the animals will be driven to local waterholes and be together in one place, which makes for great photo opportunities on African Safaris. The wet season in east Africa runs from March to May in South Africa, its from November to April, so the peak months for visitors are July, August and September. Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa are all about big game and the big 5! If its the gorillas you want to see, then Uganda and Rwanda are where you need to be.
Escorted tours of Africa
Africa is a huge continent, containing a patchwork of very diverse countries and cultures. We offer escorted tours based on where it is you want to explore. Some of theAfrican Safarisare centred around your safari experience, while others will include just a day or two of game drives, freeing up the rest of your time to travel to other, nearby attractions.
Tours of South Africa are among our most popular in this part of the world. As well as going on safari, youll be able to drink your way around the Cape Winelands, visit the famous Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain in Capetown, as well as walk around the rugged coastline and discover some delightful beaches. Boulders Bay, with its colony of penguins, is among one of the most famous.
