Highlights
Being one of the major tourist spots in Europe, France has so much to see and do so it all depends on what type of holiday your really after. One of the most obvious destinations for any visitor has to be Paris or ‘The City of Love’ the perfect place to impress the better half on Valentines day.
Home to the famous Eiffel Tower which sparkles in the night and is simply a must see if your in the city, or head to Louvre and gaze in awe at the historic art such as the Mona Lisa on display in this highly impressive art gallery. Standing tall in the centre of the city is the Notre Damn Cathedral, this 800 year old piece of history is iconic through out the world even after the recent fire which brought together a number of millionaires to quickly rebuild this impressive structure to it’s original state.
Other highlights include Mont Saint-Michel located in Normandy in the north of France – an island like no other built in the medieval times and still standing to this day. You simply have to see it to appreciate the location and structure of it. Even after all these years it’s kept its character and history making it one of Europe’s unforgettable landmarks.
River Cruises
France is also great for river cruising with the main waterways in the country being the following rivers. The Seine which travels through Paris and the northern parts of the country with many historic cities along the banks. If your looking to indulge in some of the best wines and food on the planet then set sail down the Burgundy France also offers a great entry to other stunning rivers in Europe as you can flow down past Strasbourg and start your journey onto the River Rhine in which is a very common route for a lot of our best river cruise operators.
