Itinerary

Day 1-2: Fly to Buenos Aires:

Fly to Buenos Aires with British Airways. Morning arrival and transfer to Hotel Intersur Recoleta for 3 nights. (N)

Day 3: Buenos Aires:

Take a half-day city tour and enjoy time at leisure to further explore the city or take an optional excursion. (B)

Day 4: Colonia del Sacramento:

Take a ferry ride across the Plate river to Colonia in Uruguay. Explore with an afternoon walking tour and a maté tasting session. Overnight at Posada Plaza Mayor. (B)

Day 5: Montevideo

Transfer by road to Montevideo. Add an optional visit en route to a traditional hacienda or enjoy a delicious lunch and wine tasting at the Bouza winery. Stay 2 nights at Don Boutique Hotel in the heart of the old city. (B)

Day 6: Montevideo

Morning tour of Montevideo. Included is a fascinating visit to the studio of a drum maker and percussionist, famous within the Afro-Uruguayan Candombe music community. (B)

Day 7: Jose Ignacio

Transfer to Jose Ignacio via a scenic tour of Punta del Este and visit to the house and musuem of artist Carlos Paez Vilaro at Punta Ballena. Stay 3 nights at Posada la Viuda de Jose Ignacio (sea view). (B)

Days 8–9: Jose Ignacio

At leisure. Relax and take walks along the sandy beaches. Optional excursions can be arranged, such as a visit to the small towns of Garzón or Pueblo Eden for olive oil and wine tastings, or hikes, horse or bike rides, or kayaking tours to local lagoons with a picnic lunch, (B)

Day 10 : Fy home via Madrid

Transfer to Montevideo and fly to London via Madrid. (B)
