(N) Day 2: San Gerado de DotaVisit the impressive Iraz volcano, the largest volcano in Costa Rica, and marvel at its distinctive green crater lake. Continue to the cloud forest of San Gerado de Dota for a 2-night stay at Trogon Lodge. (B) Day 3: San Gerado de DotaTake an excursion into the cloud forest for fantastic bird spotting opportunities with an expert guide. If lucky, catch a glimpse of the elusive resplendent quetzal. Stay at Maquenque Eco Lodge, set in a wildlife refuge close to San Carlos river. (B) Day 9: TenorioTake a boat trip through the wetlands to spot sloths, howler monkeys and abundant birdlife. Transfer to Tenorio Lodge, located between two volcanoes, for a 2-night stay (B) Day 10: TenorioHike along the Celeste river through dense tropical rainforest to Los Teideros, the site where two streams come together to form the heavenly blue colour that gives Rio Celeste its name.
