Itinerary
Day 1: UK – Zagreb
Fly into Zagreb Airport. Transfer to the resort town of Opatija, set on Kvarner Bay. Stay for 7 nights in a hotel right on the Lungomare promenade.
Day 2: Opatija & Rijeka
- Walking tour of Opatija: Austro-Hungarian architecture, gardens, and a chocolate tasting.
- Afternoon trip to Rijeka: Visit Trsat Castle, perched above the city.
- Free time to explore before returning to the hotel.
Day 3: Istrian Peninsula
- Visit Pula and its ancient Roman amphitheatre.
- Wine tasting and cellar tour at a family-run winery, with a light lunch (cheese, prosciutto, bread, olive oil).
- Explore medieval Rovinj and its colourful harbour.
- Mediterranean-themed dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Lovran & Moscenice
- Morning trip to Lovran: Baroque town square, 14th-century Church of St George.
- Continue to Moscenice: A medieval hilltop village with narrow streets and sea views.
- Afternoon and evening free in Opatija.
Day 5: Opatija – at Leisure
Optional excursion:
- Plitvice Lakes National Park – UNESCO site with waterfalls and 16 interconnected lakes.
- Includes a boat trip across Lake Kozjak.
Day 6: Opatija – at Leisure

- Cross into Slovenia to see the Postojna Caves and the cliffside Predjama Castle.
Day 7: Opatija – at Leisure
