Itinerary

Day 1: UK to Hanoi
Fly to Hanoi today, the vibrant capital of Vietnam.

Day 2: Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. After some time to settle in, get to know your fellow travellers over a drink and dinner.

Day 3: Hanoi
Explore Hanoi with a city tour, including the restored Opera House, One Pillar Pagoda, and Ba Dinh Square where the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum stands. Take a cyclo ride through the ancient 36 Streets district, famous for its lively markets and shops. In the evening, enjoy an optional water puppet show at Thang Long Theatre.

Day 4: Halong Bay
Embark on an overnight cruise on UNESCO-listed Halong Bay. Sail amidst limestone peaks and visit one of the bay’s impressive caves. Enjoy a seafood lunch and dinner on board, followed by a peaceful night on the water in a traditional boat.

Day 5: Hue
Wake up to stunning views of Halong Bay, then disembark and fly to Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital.

Day 6: Hue
Explore Hue, visiting the stunning Thien Mu Pagoda and the royal tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh, the latter set on the side of a mountain. After the tour, drive to Hoi An, a beautiful riverside town.

Day 7: Hoi An
Take a walking tour of Hoi An, visiting the Japanese Covered Bridge, a 200-year-old merchant’s house, and the Chuc Thanh Pagoda. Optional activities include a bicycle ride through the countryside to visit a village and a local noodle-making experience at STREETS International. Enjoy a meal of Mi Quang noodles.

Day 8: Hoi An
Spend the day at leisure to explore Hoi An’s temples, markets, or relax at your hotel. Optional excursion to My Son, a religious center of the ancient Champa Kingdom, to see ruins of Hindu temples built between the 4th and 14th centuries.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City
Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), where French colonial influences blend with Buddhist traditions. Enjoy a free day until dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City
Take an optional excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network used during the Vietnam War. Alternatively, join an afternoon city tour to see the former Presidential Palace, War Museum, shopping street Rue Catinat, and East West Brewing for a craft beer tasting. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 11: Mekong Delta
Travel into the Mekong Delta on a boat cruise. Visit Cai Be and explore the canals, local workshops, and enjoy lunch at a riverside restaurant. Those continuing to Cambodia will head to Can Tho for an overnight stay. The rest of the group returns to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City to UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

Day 13: UK
Arrive back in the UK today.
