Overview
Eastern Canada is a whirlwind of cityscapes, old-world French charm and fresh sea breezes in historic maritime towns. We uncover its best bits across 16 days. From Toronto, we’ll venture to Niagara Falls and follow the picturesque north shore of Lake Ontario. We’ll seek out fin, minke and beluga whales in Baie-Sainte-Catherine and whizz along the coast aboard the overnight Ocean Train. And to finish, we’ll spend time in the affluent and cosmopolitan city of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Day 1
Location: Ottawa
Accommodation: Hotel
Following the north shore of Lake Ontario, we reach Rockport for a cruise around the Thousand Islands archipelago on the St Lawrence River. Take in scenic views and historical estates. Continue to Ottawa for a highlights tour.
Day 2
Location: Toronto

A full day at leisure to explore this characterful city.
Day 3
Location: Montréal
Accommodation: Hotel
We depart for Montréal, beautifully located at the confluence of the St Lawrence and Ottawa rivers.
Day 4
Location: Montréal → Québec City
Accommodation: Hotel
A guided tour of Montréal covers its rich history and architectural heritage. Later, we travel to Québec City for a two-night stay. Enjoy dining options ranging from fine restaurants to casual bistros.
Day 5
Location: Québec City
Accommodation: Hotel
Guided sightseeing tour with a local expert. Afternoon at leisure to explore Old Québec, the Château Frontenac, or enjoy a carriage ride through cobblestone streets.
Day 6
Location: Baie-Sainte-Catherine
Accommodation: Hotel
Scenic drive along the Charlevoix Coastline, with a stop at Chute Montmorency Falls. In Baie-Sainte-Catherine, board a whale-watching cruise with onboard lunch. Later, travel to Sainte-Foy and board the Ocean Train for an overnight journey to Moncton.
Day 7
Location: Moncton → Saint John
Accommodation: Hotel
Breakfast on board. Enjoy views and optional activities on the train such as interpretative talks and wine tastings. Arrive in Moncton and transfer to Saint John. Afternoon at leisure.

Visit Kings Landing Historical Settlement, an open-air museum showcasing 18th and 19th-century New Brunswick life. Continue to Moncton for an overnight stay.
Day 9
Location: Halifax

Visit Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy. If tides permit, walk on the ocean floor. Board the Ocean Train for the final leg to Halifax. Enjoy the waterfront vibe and local seafood upon arrival.

Orientation tour of Halifax. Visit Peggy’s Cove and the iconic lighthouse, followed by Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Halifax in the late afternoon.

Free time to explore Halifax. Recommended sights: Citadel, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, and the Waterfront.
Day 12

A full day at leisure for sightseeing or shopping. Optional visit to Seaport Farmers’ Market or Alexander Keith’s Brewery. Enjoy an included dinner before transferring to the airport.
