Days 1–2
Our VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flights to Christchurch.
Day 3
Our first stop on our New Zealand itinerary is Christchurch, the most ‘English’ of New Zealand’s cities. On arrival, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 4
Today, we visit Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula—New Zealand’s charming French settlement. Enjoy a two-hour harbour cruise to learn how the area was shaped by volcanic activity. Keep an eye out for dolphins, penguins, and fur seals.
Day 5
We travel south to Dunedin, a city with strong Scottish roots. It’s home to New Zealand’s only kilt shop and whisky production. We stay here for two nights.
Day 6
Explore the Otago Peninsula, home to rare wildlife including blue penguins and the endangered yellow-eyed penguin. Visit the Royal Albatross Centre and enjoy scenic cliffside views.
Day 7
Today we enter Fiordland National Park, known for its dramatic landscapes. Travel to Lake Manapouri, then board the Fiordland Navigator for a cruise through Doubtful Sound. We’ll anchor in a quiet spot for an overnight stay in this pristine wilderness.
Day 8
Disembark and travel by coach to Queenstown, where we check into our hotel.
Days 9–10
Two days to enjoy Queenstown at your own pace. Explore vineyards, art galleries, golf courses, or take scenic walks to Queenstown Hill or Bob’s Peak.
Day 11
Today’s 4WD off-road safari reveals the hidden beauty of Skippers Canyon. Then we travel to the picturesque lakeside town of Wanaka.
Day 12
Free time this morning to soak in Wanaka’s scenery. Later, enjoy a thrilling 30km Haast River safari through Mount Aspiring National Park, before continuing to Franz Josef.
Day 13
We travel to Greymouth and board the scenic TranzAlpine train, crossing Arthur’s Pass to Springfield. On arrival, we continue to Kaikoura.
Day 14
Join a whale-watching cruise (weather permitting). In the afternoon, explore Kaikoura or walk the peninsula to see fur seal colonies and stunning sea views.
Day 15
Continue to Picton and board the Interislander ferry across the Cook Strait to Wellington. Enjoy an orientation tour of the capital on arrival.
Day 16
A full day at leisure in Wellington. Visit museums, stroll the inner-city beach, or explore the Weta Cave and Te Papa Museum.
Day 17
Travel to Hawkes Bay, stopping at Church Road winery for a tasting. Continue to Napier for a short Art Deco walking tour.
Day 18
We journey to Lake Taupo, stopping en route at the dramatic Huka Falls. Overnight in Taupo.
Day 19
Continue to Rotorua and experience Maori culture at Tamaki Village—learn ancient customs and enjoy a traditional hangi feast.
Day 20
A free day to explore Rotorua’s geothermal wonders, or unwind at the Polynesian Pools.
Day 21
Visit Te Puia and the New Zealand Maori Arts & Crafts Institute. See the Pohutu Geyser and kiwi enclosure before heading to the Coromandel Peninsula.
Day 22
Explore the Coromandel Peninsula, including Hot Water Beach. Ferry from Cooks Beach to Whitianga, with time to explore before continuing to Auckland.
Day 23
Discover Auckland on a guided morning tour. Choose between the All Blacks Experience or a tour of the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 24
We travel north to the Bay of Islands and visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds—birthplace of modern New Zealand.
Day 25
Enjoy a cruise to Cape Brett Peninsula and the Hole in the Rock. Watch for whales and bottlenose dolphins.
Day 26
Travel along the Hibiscus Coast to Auckland Airport for your return flight to the UK.
Day 27
On arrival, your vehicle will be waiting to take you home.
