A regional capital packed with architectural treasures. White-washed towns nestled between the bright blue sea and lush green mountains. Catalonia has plenty to draw you in – and even more to bring you back.

On this trip, we enjoy several boat rides while exploring this fiercely proud region of Spain, including peaceful Lake Banyoles and beautiful Besalú. And since it’s so close, we cross into France to cruise the impressively engineered Canal du Midi.

Day 1 – UK → Spain
Fly to Barcelona, then transfer to Roses on the Costa Brava.

Cruise to Cadaqués, guided tour of the fishing village, and leisure time before returning to Roses.

Cross into France for a boat ride along the Canal du Midi, with lunch and wine included.

Day 5 – Besalú & Empuriabrava Canal
