(N) Day 2: MuscatThis morning take a private tour of Muscat including visits to the Royal Opera House, the fish market, Muttrah souk, Bait Al Zubair museum and the Grand Mosque. Photo stops will be made at Al Alam Palace and the forts of Mirani and Jalali. Afternoon at leisure. (B) Day 3: Daymaniyat islandsBoard your own private catamaran and sail north of Muscat towards the marine nature reserve of the Daymaniyat islands. Swim and snorkel in the clear waters with lunch served on board. Later, sail along the coastline to enjoy the sunset and return to your hotel. (B, L) Day 4: Wadi Shab Sur Sharqiya SandsDrive to the desert via the fishing village of Quriyat; a limestone crater filled with turquoise water; and Wadi Shab, a palm-fringed lagoon. After lunch at Sur, continue to Sharqiya Sands for Omani coffee in a Bedouin camp and experience dune bashing. Stay overnight at the Desert Nights Camp*. (B, L, D) Day 5: Jabal AkhdarDrive into the cooler climates of the Al Hajar mountains, stopping en route at an uninhabited village to explore its orchards and brick houses. Continue to the Alila Jabal Akhdar or Anantara Jabal Akhdar for a 3-night stay. Perched at 2,000 metres above sea level, these luxury resorts are a tranquil base from which to explore the area. (B) Day 6: NizwaEarly morning visit to Nizwas cattle market before exploring the round fort and the souk. Continue to the 17th-century Jabrin fort and have lunch near to Jabal Shams, the highest peak in the mountains. Afternoon at leisure. (B, L) Day 7: Jabal AkhdarDay at leisure.
