Itinerary

Day 1: UK to Naples

Fly to Naples and transfer to your 4-star hotel in the Bay of Naples. The area is known for its beauty, mild climate, and fascinating history. Enjoy the picture-perfect streets, laid-back café culture, and great cuisine. In the evening, you’ll meet your fellow travellers over a welcome drink before dinner.

Day 2: Pompeii

Today, you’ll begin with a walking tour of modern Pompeii, visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, before heading to the remarkable archaeological site. Pompeii’s sheer scale is immense, and on your guided tour, you’ll explore villas decorated with frescos, vibrant mosaics, Roman baths, and the spectacular amphitheatre. The evening is free for you to dine out at one of the many pizzerias or restaurants nearby, if you wish.

Day 3: Pompeii – At Leisure

Today is free for you to explore Pompeii further at your own pace. Alternatively, you can join an optional excursion to the beautiful island of Capri. Dinner will be served at the hotel in the evening.

Day 4: Pompeii – At Leisure

Another day at leisure to explore the area. You can opt for a full-day excursion on a scenic coastal drive to the beautiful towns of Amalfi and Ravello.

Day 5: Pompeii – At Leisure

Enjoy another day at leisure, or take part in an optional excursion to Mount Vesuvius, which last erupted in 1944. After admiring the volcano from a distance, you’ll have the chance to get up close and experience it firsthand. In the evening, an optional opera performance of ‘The Three Tenors – Opera Arias, Naples and Songs’ will be available.

Day 6: Pompeii – At Leisure

On this day, you can join an optional excursion to the Archaeological Museum in Naples, followed by a visit to the Roman town of Herculaneum, which was also buried in the eruption that destroyed Pompeii. Herculaneum is better preserved than Pompeii, and a guided tour will allow you to explore its ruins. Alternatively, you can relax at your hotel and enjoy the rooftop terrace with panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius.

Day 7: Sorrento

On the final day of your holiday, you will visit the lively seaside resort of Sorrento. Explore the main square, stroll through narrow lanes, and enjoy traditional trattorias and shops. You will also visit a family-owned farm that produces Limoncello, where you can take a walk in the lemon groves and enjoy a tasting of the liqueur, along with lemon-flavored ice cream and jam. An optional 3-hour cookery class followed by lunch will also be available. In the evening, join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner at the hotel.

Day 8: Naples to UK

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
