ItineraryDay 1 UK – Naples – SorrentoTitans VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Naples. On arrival, well transfer to our base for the week just outside Sorrento.
Day 2 SorrentoSorrento is a labyrinth of cobbled streets dotted with limoncello stands, gelato shops and lively street vendors. Well explore together, taking in highlights such as the greenery-draped 14th-century monastery, Chiostro di San Francesco. Soak up the sea views from Sorrento Park – with views of Mount Vesuvius in the distance. After all that sightseeing, you might be feeling peckish. Perhaps opt for an afternoon of pizza-making at a local restaurant, where youll learn the art of creating delicious traditional Neapolitan pizzas. Delicioso.
Day 3 PompeiiWe head out to explore Pompeii today. This Roman resort town was buried in AD 79 by a sudden and massive eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Most of the locals werent able to escape and many remainders of their day-to-day life have been well preserved under thick layers of ash and lava. Our guided tour will give us a glimpse into the lifestyle of this once thriving town. Many household items are on display to view – as they were hundreds of years ago – providing a fascinating insight into ancient Roman customs, art and trades. Even the walls themselves, with shops signs and graffiti of electoral propaganda, are completely compelling.
Day 4 Amalfi CoastBrace yourself for one of the worlds most spectacular and famous drives. Italy’s Amalfi Coast is a 50km stretch of stunning coastline that winds its way along the Sorrentine Peninsula from Sorrento to Salerno. Soak up the breathtaking seascapes at every twist and turn – youll want to keep your camera at the ready for this. Our first stop is pretty Positano, awash with pastel-painted houses clinging to the cliff edge. From here, well take to the water and speed over to iconic Amalfi by boat, so youll have the added bonus of seeing the coastline from the sea. Later, well return to Sorrento by boat.
Day 5 CapriWell journey to the jewel of the Bay of Naples – the idyllic island of Capri. As we approach by private boat, youll see the islands famed limestone cliffs soaring from the sparkling blue water. Take in the sights of the island from the water on a private guided boat tour, then enjoy some free time in Capri Town to wander the harbour and many gelato shops. Well also venture up to Anacapri, the centre of the island, via funicular for fantastic sea views.
Day 6 SorrentoToday is at leisure to explore the tangled streets of Sorrento under your own steam. Perhaps join our optional excursion to mighty Mount Vesuvius to learn about the history and geology of this restless mountain. After, youll stop for a leisurely wine tasting and light lunch at a winery on the fertile slopes of the volcano. This famous Neapolitan wine, Lacrima Christi (tears of Christ), is grown right here giving the grapes a unique flavour.
Day 7 SorrentoSpend your final day soaking up the sights of Sorrento or perhaps wander down to one of the bathing platforms for a spot of relaxation. This evening well enjoy a traditional farewell dinner together at a local restaurant on Sorrento Pier. The beautiful views across the sea will only enhance Sorrentos renowned sunsets.
Day 8 Sorrento – Naples – UKTransfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home. |
