The Ravenala Attitude is a fresh and welcoming resort on Turtle Bay, and the focus is on providing plentiful activities and culinary experiences for everyone. If youre looking for an active break have a go at paddleboarding, windsurfing and canoeing or splash out on a diving expedition. The Otentik Attitude programme allows you to really get to know your destination with cooking classes, dinner in a local home, market visits and culture and heritage tours.

There is a particular emphasis on cuisine here with 10 dining outlets from family friendly to adults only. The day begins with a buffet breakfast at the main restaurant while lunch can also be enjoyed at the waterfront restaurant , Beach BBQ and Taba-j. Its at dinner when the resort really comes into its own with eight restaurants to choose from, seven of which are included in the all-inclusive package.

Which suite you choose depends on whether youre travelling as a couple, with your children or a group of friends. Family Suites offer enough space for up to two adults and three children while Couple Suites are great for a romantic break or a holiday with a friend. Guests in the Executive Beachfront Adult Suites can enjoy access to the dedicated restaurant and bar a great place to relax throughout the day.

Restaurants & bars

Dining at Ravenala is a true pleasure and there’s plenty of variety to ensure you never tire of a particular cuisine. There are 10 dining outlets all offering something a little different, seven of which are included in the cost of the All Inclusive dine-around experience (please note that selected dishes are subject to an extra charge).

Dine-around restaurants


Mozaik which is located at the heart of the resort and is open for breakfast and two sittings at dinner. Those who like to dine early, particularly those with children can dine from 6:30pm, while those looking for a later meal can opt for the 8:30 sitting.

Adjacent to the main restaurant are the Asian la carte venueMadame Ming, the ItalianA TavolaandKot Nou,which specialises in Mauritian cuisine, all of which are open at dinner, six days a week. For beachside lunches we recommend heading to the open-air la carte restaurantOor the casual buffet eateryBeach BBQ. This is a really relaxed spot to enjoy a lengthy lunch; O is also open for dinner from 7 to 10pm. And last but not least isThe Bistrot where you can enjoy afternoon tea and salads, burgers and tapas dishes at dinner. The restaurant is open six days a week and it becomes an adults-only venue on a Friday night.

An alternative option for lunch isTaba-J where you can enjoy a taste of the island with Mauritian street food at lunch.

Speciality restaurants

There are two further restaurants at the resort which are available to dine at at an extra cost. One of the most popular spots for a romantic meal or special occasion is the adults-onlyRiviera, open for dinner six days a week. Floating over the Rivire Citron, this open-air venue seats just 24 guests and serves grilled seafood dishes. The most exclusive restaurant at the resort isLime which is located in the Executive Adult Wing and is solely for the use of guests staying in the Executive Seafront Adult Suite at lunch time (lunch is included in all-inclusive package for Executive guests; closed on Friday). At dinner it’s open for all guests of the hotel over 18 years of age (at a supplement).

Spa & wellness

The treatments at the charming Spa Attitude draw on the island’s natural elements of soil, sea, sun and plants. Within the spa complex there are ten treatment rooms as well as two couples rooms with a whirlpool bath. You can enjoy hydrotherapy or vichy shower treatments or just unwind in the relaxation lounge – the perfect place to while away some time post-treatment. Further facilities include a hammam and a sauna.

What’s nearby
Ravenala Attitude is in a peaceful location on Mauritius north-west coast. Port Louis, the countrys rainbow-hued capital, is a 25-minute drive away and offers shopping, street art and street food. Some of the islands best beaches including Mont Choisy and Trou aux Biches are just over a five-minute drive from the hotel.

The sleeping arrangements
Just like the rest of the resort, the rooms at Ravenala Attitude blend colonial style with a contemporary edge. Think rattan furnishings, statement pieces of art and design-led lighting. We love the Family Suites, which sleep two adults and three children. These rooms are tucked away in a peaceful garden, and have a separate childrens bedroom with three sofa beds, and a spacious balcony or terrace.
