Discover South Africa Tour
Discover the very best of South Africa on this all-encompassing tour. Beginning in Cape Town, take the cable car up Table Mountain and enjoy a tour of the Cape Peninsula which includes a visit to Cape Point and Boulders Beach. Next, you’ll head to Stellenbosch in the Western Cape winelands, before heading to Hermanus for an incredible whale-watching experience. Continuing to Knysna, a town at the heart of the famous Garden Route. From Port Elizabeth we’ll go on to discover the KwaZulu-Natal battlefields on a tour. Kruger National Park is our next destination, where we’ll head out in search of the Big Five, before a drive along the scenic Panorama Route. Complete this incredible adventure with a visit the awesome Victoria Falls where you’ll enjoy a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River, a guided tour of the Victoria Falls and a fabulous Boma Dinner & Drum show.

Itinerary
Day 1: UK to Cape Town
Depart from the UK on your scheduled overnight flight to Cape Town.
Day 2: Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town in the morning. Start your sightseeing en route to your hotel, passing some of the city’s highlights. If the weather is favorable, you may take a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. Spend the next three nights in Cape Town.
Day 3: Cape Peninsula
Spend the day exploring the Cape Peninsula. If weather permits, drive along Chapman’s Peak, one of the most beautiful coastal drives in the world. Visit Cape Nature Reserve and Cape Point, and make your way back via Boulders Beach to see the famous penguin colony. Your journey continues through Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, and Muizenberg, concluding with a visit to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Day 4: Cape Town
Enjoy a day at your own pace in Cape Town. For those interested, an optional excursion is available to Khayelitsha, Cape Town’s largest township. En route, visit Bo-Kaap Malay Quarter and District Six, a former residential area from the apartheid era. The tour includes a visit to the Philani Empowerment Centre and an opportunity to experience daily life in this vibrant community.
Day 5: Stellenbosch
Head to Stellenbosch, located in the heart of the Western Cape’s winelands. Enjoy a tour of the city and the surrounding wine estates, complete with wine tastings and a cellar tour.
Day 6: Hermanus
Travel to Hermanus, renowned for its land-based whale watching. If weather conditions allow, embark on a whale-watching cruise to see southern right whales up close. Spend the afternoon exploring the town at your leisure before staying overnight.
Day 7: Oudtshoorn
Drive to Swellendam, one of South Africa’s oldest towns, where you’ll explore its stunning architecture and visit a local museum. Continue to Oudtshoorn, the “ostrich capital of the world,” located in the Klein Karoo, with a stop at Huisrivier Pass for incredible views.
Day 8: Knysna
Visit the Safari Ostrich Farm in Oudtshoorn to see these fascinating birds up close. Then, explore the Cango Caves, a 20-million-year-old limestone cave system. Continue to Knysna for a two-night stay.
Day 9: Knysna
Knysna, located in the heart of the Garden Route, is a charming town surrounded by ancient forests. Enjoy a leisurely start to the day before visiting the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Take a cruise across Knysna Lagoon, followed by a walk through the forest, past ancient sea caves, and a buffet lunch at the lagoon-side restaurant.
Day 10: Port Elizabeth
Travel to Port Elizabeth via Plettenberg Bay and stop at Storms River Mouth in Tsitsikamma National Park.
Day 11: Battlefields
Explore Port Elizabeth, one of South Africa’s largest cities, before heading to Durban. From here, journey into the KwaZulu-Natal battlefields—the heart of the Zulu kingdom. Spend two nights in the region.
Day 12: Battlefields
Take a guided tour of the historic Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift battlefields. Stand at the site of the famous 1879 Battle of Isandlwana and the subsequent conflict at Rorke’s Drift.
Day 13: Kruger
Travel to Kruger National Park, one of the world’s most famous wildlife reserves. Although the journey is long, it is worth it for the incredible experience ahead. Stay at a lodge on the banks of the Sabie River for the next two nights.
Day 14: Kruger
Wake up to the sounds of nature and choose from an optional early-morning game drive or an optional afternoon game drive. Alternatively, spend time at leisure, perhaps relaxing by the pool.
Day 15: Kruger
Join a game drive this morning, which includes a breakfast picnic in the park. Spend the afternoon at leisure or go on another optional game drive to continue your wildlife adventures.
Day 16: Kruger & Panorama Route
Enjoy a scenic drive along the Panorama Route, taking in breathtaking landscapes such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and the Three Rondavels. Experience the Graskop Gorge Lift, descending 51 meters to explore the forest below on suspension bridges. Tonight, weather permitting, enjoy a traditional braai (barbecue) under the stars.
Day 17: Kruger to the UK
Transfer to Johannesburg for your evening flight to the UK.
Day 18: Arrive in the UK
Arrive in the UK, bringing your unforgettable South African adventure to an end.
