Located on a separate island from the capital of Male, the airport serves as the main gateway into the Maldives for guests. The airport offers souvenir and duty-free shops, restaurants, medical facilities, prayer room and provides banking and postal services. The resort arranges to take you by car to the Vakkaru Maldives private lounge in the seaplane terminal. Here you can relax while enjoying complimentary light drinks, snacks and WiFi. The Vakkaru Maldives team will do their best to arrange your resort transfer within two hours of arriving at the lounge. While departing guests will be transferred to the airport at least three hours in advance of their scheduled international flight departure time. Seaplanes fly in daylight hours only and your transfer to the resort is a 30-minute flight north-west of the airport. If you are arriving in the evening or simply prefer, you may choose a domestic flight to the local airport in Baa Atoll (Dharavandhoo), a journey of 20-minute followed by a 30-minute speedboat ride to the island. Please provide us with your international flight arrival and departure details at least 72 hours in advance to ensure a smooth journey to Vakkaru Maldives is booked for you.
