Overview
Join a group of like-minded solo travellers on a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia, journeying from the ethereal limestone karst islands of Lan Ha Bay in Vietnam to the cultural highlight of the Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia.
Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Hanoi, Vietnam
- Overnight flight from London (regional connections available) to Hanoi with Vietnam Airlines on the state-of-the-art Dreamliner aircraft. (N)
Day 2: Hanoi
- Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to the Mövenpick Hotel for a 2-night stay.
- Welcome dinner to meet your fellow travellers. (D)
Day 3: Hanoi
- Morning visit to a fresh food market, followed by a class in Vietnamese cooking.
- Afternoon tour of Hanoi’s cultural sights, then evening watch of a traditional water puppet show. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Lan Ha Bay
- Drive to the port and board a vessel for an afternoon cruise in Lan Ha Bay.
- Overnight accommodation on board the Indochine. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Fly to Hoi An
- Morning cruise in Halong Bay.
- Disembark and drive to Hanoi airport, then fly to Hoi An. Stay 2 nights at the Boutique Hoi An Resort. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Hoi An
- Day at leisure: relax on the hotel beach or take the shuttle bus to town to explore Hoi An Ancient Town. (B)
Day 7: Fly to Ho Chi Minh City
- Early flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), then transfer to the Grand Hotel Saigon for a 2-night stay.
- Afternoon city tour followed by a visit to the Cu Chi tunnels, then return to the city for dinner. (B, D)
Day 8: Mekong Delta
- Full-day exploration of the Mekong Delta, including a boat trip along the Bamboo Canal and a sampan ride exploring the smaller channels and walking in the countryside. (B, L)
Day 9: Fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia
- Morning city tour of Ho Chi Minh City.
- Transfer to the airport and fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Stay 2 nights at the Tara Angkor Hotel. (B, D)
Day 10: Angkor Temples
- Full-day tour of the temples.
- Morning visit to Angkor Wat.
- Afternoon visits to the Terrace of the Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King, and the Bayon Temple.
- Watch the sunset at Pre Rup temple, followed by a farewell dinner at a Khmer-style house by Srah Srang Lake within the Angkor Archaeological Park. (B, D)
Day 11: Fly to London via Ho Chi Minh City
- Morning visit to a countryside village with the chance to try rural skills such as fishing, cooking, and rice planting.
- Return to the hotel for lunch.
- Early evening transfer to the airport. Fly to Ho Chi Minh City, then catch the late evening flight to London. (B)
Day 12: London
- Early morning arrival in London. (N)
