Havila Voyage North Itinerary
Day 1 – Departure from Bergen
Port: Bergen
Your Norwegian coastal adventure begins in Bergen, the gateway to the fjords. Discover the colourful UNESCO-listed warehouses of Bryggen, wander through the historic streets or take the Fløibanen funicular for fantastic views across the city before beginning your voyage north.
Day 2 – Ålesund & Famous Fjords
Ports: Florø, Måløy, Torvik, Ålesund, Geiranger, Hjørundfjord and Molde
Wake to beautiful coastal scenery as you continue north towards Ålesund, famous for its distinctive Art Nouveau architecture.
Depending on the season, your journey takes you into some of Norway’s most spectacular fjord scenery, including the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord or beautiful Hjørundfjord, surrounded by towering mountains and dramatic landscapes.
Day 3 – Trondheim, Norway’s Historic Heart
Ports: Kristiansund, Trondheim and Rørvik
Today you arrive in Trondheim, one of Norway’s most historic cities. Founded in 997, Trondheim combines centuries of history with a lively modern atmosphere.
Discover the city’s colourful waterfront, historic streets and impressive Nidaros Cathedral before continuing your journey north along the Norwegian coast.
Day 4 – Crossing into the Arctic
Ports: Brønnøysund, Sandnessjøen, Nesna, Ørnes, Bodø, Stamsund and Svolvær
Today is a major milestone as you cross the Arctic Circle and enter Arctic Norway.
Continue past the beautiful Helgeland Coast towards Bodø before sailing for the spectacular Lofoten Islands. Visit Stamsund and Svolvær, surrounded by dramatic mountains, fishing villages and some of Norway’s most memorable coastal scenery.
Day 5 – Tromsø, Capital of the Arctic
Ports: Stokmarknes, Sortland, Risøyhamn, Harstad, Finnsnes, Tromsø and Skjervøy
Travel through Vesterålen and past the island of Senja before arriving in Tromsø, often known as the Capital of the Arctic.
Enjoy time to discover this fascinating northern city, from its lively centre and waterfront to the striking Arctic Cathedral. Later, sail towards Skjervøy with views towards the magnificent Lyngen Alps.
Day 6 – At the Top of Europe
Ports: Øksfjord, Hammerfest, Havøysund, Honningsvåg, Kjøllefjord, Mehamn and Berlevåg
Your Havila voyage continues through the far north of Norway. Visit Hammerfest before reaching Honningsvåg, the gateway to the famous North Cape.
Continue through spectacular Arctic landscapes towards Kjøllefjord and Mehamn, with remote settlements, dramatic rock formations and rugged coastal scenery along the way.
Day 7 – Arrival in Kirkenes
Ports: Båtsfjord, Vardø, Vadsø and Kirkenes
During your final morning, sail through some of Norway’s most remote northern communities before arriving in Kirkenes.
Situated in Norway’s far northeast, Kirkenes marks the end of your northbound Havila coastal journey and the conclusion of an unforgettable voyage through Norway.
