Why a cruise on the Danube makes for the perfect honeymoon package
Honeymoons are inherently romantic and a one-off occasion in your life to be savoured. It’s your chance to be alone together after the circus of your wedding day. For this reason it’s important to book a uniquely unforgettable trip that won’t simply disappear into the mists of your memory along with all the other beach holidays you’re going to take in your life.
It has long been considered that the Danube is the most romantic river in Europe. Why? Because it traverses, some of the most romantic destinations in Europe, of course. A Viking river cruise, for example, will take you through Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and some of the oldest parts of Germany.
On a Viking cruise, not only will you be pampered and treated to a luxurious cabin aboard your ship, but you’ll also experience the palaces, cathedrals and gardens of Old Vienna. No doubt there will be plenty of opportunity to eat delicious strudels and hear the romantic notes of Schubert’s violin serenade here as well. The German old towns you’ll visit are the charming Passau and Nuremberg, the latter was named the second most romantic location in Germany by the Local newspaper.
Another ranked favourite destination on this cruise is the Danube area Manor Houses in Slovakia. These were named the third most romantic spot in the country by Slovakia’s own travel guide. There’s no escaping the romance! Finally Budapest is our final destination. This capital city is known as “the Paris of Eastern Europe” for it’s obvious association with being a perfect city for lovers.
