My Stay at Club Med Magna Marbella ✈️🌴
After months of hearing whispers about Club Med’s newest resort, I finally got the chance to see it for myself. Magna Marbella has officially opened its doors, and I hopped on a short flight to Málaga to spend two nights exploring everything it has to offer. Spoiler: it didn’t disappoint.
The Journey In
I barely had time to settle into my seat before the flight touched down in Málaga—it’s such an easy hop from the UK. Just past passport control, there was a big Club Med stand with smiling staff ready to whisk me away.
The transfer takes around 45 minutes, but honestly, it flew by. Before I knew it, I was stepping out into the sunshine, greeted by friendly faces and that famous Club Med welcome. Check-in was quick and painless, and instead of fumbling with room keys, you get a wristband for your stay (a small touch, but one I really appreciated).
First Look at My Room
I was shown to my 8th-floor Sea View Room, and wow—what a view. The balcony opened up to endless shades of blue, framed by the Sierra Blanca mountains in the distance.
The room itself was airy, modern, and styled with that laid-back Spanish vibe:
- Spacious twin beds and comfy mattresses (I slept like a log).
- A huge bathroom with double sinks and a walk-in shower.
- Strong Wi-Fi (yes, I tested it while uploading photos!).
- A stocked minibar plus tea and coffee for lazy mornings on the balcony.
Like any travel geek, I had to open every drawer, peek in the bathroom, and test out the balcony chairs before unpacking. It’s all part of the ritual, right?
Exploring the Resort
The resort itself is compact but beautifully designed—it never feels overwhelming, which is a win if you’re traveling with kids.
The Pools
There are five pools in total, each with its own vibe:
- The kids’ pool with water games (looked like paradise for little ones).
- The indoor spa pool—perfect for when the weather doesn’t play ball.
- The Zen Pool, adults-only, and the most peaceful spot on-site.
- The Lagoon Pool, the showstopper in the middle of the resort, where I even joined an aqua aerobics session (yes, I was that person splashing about at 11 am).
Sports & Activities 🎾
This place is an active traveler’s dream. New tennis courts, padel (Spain’s obsession right now), and golf facilities keep things varied. If you’ve never tried padel, don’t worry—group lessons are included, and they’re actually fun.
Then there’s the flying trapeze (yes, really), circus school, and archery. Evenings bring team sports like football and volleyball, which are a great way to meet people.
Evenings at Magna Marbella
At night, the resort really comes alive. Each evening there’s entertainment for adults and kids, and while I was there, they hosted a Money Heist–themed show. The costumes, the energy, the creativity—it was so well done that I found myself grinning like a kid.
Food, Glorious Food 🍴
Club Med has a reputation for great food, and Magna doesn’t let the side down.
- The Buffet: Every meal is a feast, with international dishes and rotating themes. One night I tucked into Spanish tapas, the next I slurped Japanese ramen. And yes, there are always safe staples if you’re not in the mood to experiment.
- Tierra Lounge: If you want to level up, head here for gourmet local cuisine paired with wines from the on-site cellar. I joined a wine-tasting session, and let’s just say it was one of the highlights of the trip (when in Spain, right?).
A Day Trip to Granada 🌄
One of the perks of Magna Marbella is its location. You’re perfectly placed for exploring Andalucía, and I couldn’t resist a day trip to Granada.
Perched high in the Sierra Nevada, Granada feels like stepping into another world—Arabic influences, winding cobbled streets, and views that make your jaw drop. If you can spare a day, go. It’s magical.
Final Thoughts
After two days at Club Med Magna Marbella, I can confidently say this resort has something for everyone. Families will love the pools and activities, couples will love the Zen pool and wine cellar, and adventure-seekers will be spoiled for choice.
