Itinerary
Day 1
London to Turin
Your journey begins at St Pancras Station, with the Eurostar journey to Paris, onwards by TGV to Turin.
Day 2
Turin to Venice
Today continue to Venice and your hotel – the 4-star Hotel Papadopoli which is ideally located close to Venice’s many attractions. Although incredibly beautiful by day, Venice is even more enchanting by night. As darkness falls, sit back and watch the magic unfold in St Mark’s Square as the sound of orchestras fills the evening air.
Day 3
Exploring Venice
A walking tour is a leisurely way to ensure you cover all the city’s unmissable highlights including its three graces: St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Renaissance Torre dell’Orologio. Alternatively, take a trip on a gondola for an unbeatable view of the city from the water.
Day 4
Venice to Florence
On arrival in Florence why not wander down to the Ponte Vecchio and sample some of region’s best wine at Le Volpie l’Uva. Follow this with a stroll through the resplendent Boboli Gardens with its famous Isoletto, an island of lemon trees and sculptures.
Day 5
Exploring Florence
The Duomo is one of Florence’s highlights, as is the spectacular bird’s-eye view of the city from its bell tower. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, Florence has a multitude of artistic riches on offer, many of which can be discovered in the Uffizi gallery.
Day 6
Pisa and Lucca
A short train journey from Florence are the cities of Pisa and Lucca, both wonderful day trip destinations. In Pisa, explore the city’s Field of Miracles where you’ll find the infamous Leaning Tower. Then head to picturesque Lucca, renowned for its silk and its most famous son, Puccini.
Day 7
Florence to Rome
Today, head to Italy’s vibrant capital Rome. Perhaps begin your time with a visit to Rome’s largest Baroque fountain – the Trevi Fountain. Adorned with magnificent statues, it is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful fountains in the world.
Day 8
Discovering Historic Rome
The Colosseum is an ideal starting point for a tour of the city’s Roman attractions before moving on to the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the awe-inspiring Pantheon.
Day 9
The Mystique and Masterpieces of Rome
No trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Vatican. Here you can enjoy an unforgettable visit to St Peter’s Basilica. Then make your way through the church’s impressive collection of art before reaching Michelangelo’s stunning frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.
Day 10
Homeward Bound
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
