Day 1: Fly to Yerevan, via Brussels

Fly from London (regional connections available) to Yerevan via Brussels with Brussels Airlines. Upon arrival, transfer to the Tufenkian Yerevan Heritage Hotel for a 4-night stay.

Day 2: Yerevan

Enjoy a full-day tour of Yerevan, including a visit to the Matenadaran, home to ancient Armenian manuscripts, and the Erebuni Fortress, where you meet a local expert (subject to confirmation). Continue to Tsitsernakaberd, the genocide memorial and museum with panoramic views of the city. End the day at the National Art Gallery, which houses medieval frescoes and Armenian and European art.

Day 3: Etchmiadzin

Drive west to visit Etchmiadzin (Vagharshapat), the spiritual center of the Armenian-Gregorian Church. Take a private behind-the-scenes tour of the monastic complex and visit St Hripsime Church. Explore Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the world’s oldest state-built cathedral, home to the Holy Lance. Finish the day at the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral.

Day 4: Garni • Geghard

Head east of Yerevan to visit the classical Hellenistic temple of Garni, a symbol of pre-Christian Armenia. Nearby, explore Geghard Monastery, partially carved out of the mountainside and surrounded by dramatic cliffs.

Day 5: Lake Sevan & monasteries • Tbilisi

Travel north toward Georgia, stopping at Lake Sevan and the UNESCO-listed monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin, known for their distinct 10th-century architecture. Continue to Tbilisi for a 2-night stay.

Day 6: Tbilisi

Take a full-day tour of Tbilisi, beginning with a cable car ride to Narikala Fortress. Visit the fifth-century Metekhi Church and the State Museum, showcasing Caucasian art and artifacts. End the day with a private guided tour at the Georgia Museum of Art led by a senior curator.

Day 7: Mtskheta – Gori – Kutaisi

Day 8: Bagrati – Gelati – Ubisa – Tbilisi
