Enjoy an American adventure of a lifetime with our Chicago, the
Grand Canyon & Los Angeles itinerary. Discover ‘The Windy
City’, explore the cultural Santa Fe, travel on the Grand Canyon
Railway to the Majestic Grand Canyon and then visit the home of
film, Los Angeles.

Itinerary

Days 1-2

Chicago

Your American adventure begins with your flight from London to
Chicago. You begin your exploration of ‘The Windy City’ on Day 2
either independently or by taking an optional tour.

Days 3-5

Santa Fe

Today leave Chicago and board Amtrak’s Southwest Chief sleeper
service to Santa Fe. Travelling south through America’s heartland,
the wide expanse of plains and cornfields gradually give way to the
rocky mountainous terrain of Colorado and New Mexico. You spend the
night on board, and on Day 4, arrive into Lamy station, where a
shuttle bus will transfer you to Santa Fe. This wonderful city
blends a diverse range of cultures including European, Hispanic,
and Native American which have all influenced the architecture,
food and culture of Santa Fe.

Days 6-7

Williams, the Grand Canyon and to Los Angeles

Return to Lamy station to rejoin the Southwest Chief for the
journey to Williams in Arizona, where you spend the night at the
Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. On Day 7, join the Grand Canyon Railway
which takes you to the majestic Grand Canyon itself. On return, you
join the Southwest Chief travelling on the overnight sleeper
service to Los Angeles, alongside the fabled Route 66.

Days 8-9

Los Angeles

This morning the Southwest Chief arrives into Los Angeles.
Iconic, exciting and diverse, Los Angeles is home to so many iconic
landmarks made famous by TV and film including the Hollywood sign,
the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the legendary Venice Beach.

Days 10-11

Los Angeles

It is time to bid Los Angeles, and the USA, farewell today as
your adventure draws to a close. After transferring to the airport,
you’ll board the overnight flight back to London, arriving
mid-morning on Day 11.
