Club Med CREACTIVE is a brand new type of holiday that gives you free rein to express yourself in a circus-based playscape provided for adults and children. It has just been launched at the Punta Cana and Opio en Provence resorts and is the result of a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and Club Med. Its effectively a giant playground that will teach you new, transferable skills and help you meet new people.

The CREACTIVE space is designed to be an immersive and exhilarating experience. You will escape from your normal routine, even from your normal holiday routine, to have fun and feel creatively inspired. There are up to 30 circus activities in which you and your kids can be trained, all under the guidance of expert Gentils Circassiens; practitioners with over 25 years experience in teaching circus skills.

This is the ideal place to discover the artist within, whilst staying in luxury Club Med accommodation, feasting on the gourmet food prepared in the on site restaurants and enjoying the available sporting and leisure facilities both on site and off. In both Provence and the Dominican Republic, where the CREACTIVE sites are based, you could find yourself spinning on a large wheel one day and lazing beside the pool, or playing a round of golf, the next. The benefits of learning circus skills

It has long been known that juggling and other circus skills do far more than simply entertain others. They require a commitment and discipline that can improve your cognitive abilities, improve academic performance, give you more self confidence, increase your balance and coordination capabilities, as well as enhance the way in which you solve problems. They also serve an important social function, in that you must learn to trust those which whom you are working and work as a team in order to achieve your goals.

What will you find in the CREACTIVE space?

There are a number of different circus disciplines in which you can train, although one of the simplest; juggling, is known to provide some of the best mental health benefits. Swinging through the air on the high bungee is always an exhilarating ride. Imagine the ultimate trampoline that will help you soar higher than ever before! The double flying trapeze will enable you to swing freely at a great height, while performing acrobatics on the aerial silk will allow you to make shapes in the air, whilst hanging from a piece of fabric several metres up. The tightrope is a circus classic and always a crowd pleaser. Picture the reaction from friends and family when you demonstrate your new abilities!

As well as flashier components of CREACTIVE, you’ll also learn how to juggle, play percussion instruments to expertly provide a rhythm, better dancing techniques and how to paint masks. If you have a career in teaching, performance, events, or you run community based projects, the skills you’ll be taught will be invaluable and you’ll have a lot of fun learning them too.

Where can you find the CREACTIVE spaces

Quite a few Club Med resorts have a circus skills school on site, or the capacity to teach some circus skills to guests. However, Club Med Punta Cana and Club Med Opio en Provence are set to become the big names of the Club Med circus circuit. Circus activities are being developed due to their popularity with adult and child guests alike. There is a hunger to learn circus skills at the moment and by collaborating with Cirque du Soleil in this way, Club Med is leading the way in Circus skill-holidays.

CREACTIVE at Club Med Punta Cana

The Dominican Republic is in the Caribbean and consists of white sandy beaches, fringed by a warm, sparkling turquoise sea. Its just as possible to lie under a coconut tree here, soaking up the sunshine and watch the turtles swimming past with a cocktail in your hand, as it it to swing from the flying trapeze.

Club Med Punta Cana is a leader in luxury accommodation, so alongside the already spacious club and slightly larger, but still affordable, deluxe rooms, youll also find a quality that reaches new impressive levels. The zen deluxe room will provide you with a light and airy space that is perfect for adults who are looking for a heightened experience. At least part of your focus during your stay at Punta Cana should be on relaxing. You are on holiday after all. There are plenty of bars to choose from, in which to enjoy a drink with atmosphere and a great view. The Cielo is opposite the pool, but still looks out over the ocean, the Indigo Beach Bar is where youll need to go to dance, La Cave wine cellar has an exquisite collection of designer wines and champagnes, while Hibiscus is the adults-only bar. This is where you can escape the sounds of other peoples children (or your own, when theyre busy in the kids clubs!)

There are three restaurants on site. The Samana and Hispaniola both offer a wide variety of local and international cuisine, while the Indigo specialises in local delicacies, with a particular emphasis on seafood. Children are welcome in all of them, if you can tempt them away from the kids clubs.

Kids clubs are available for different age groups. From 4 months old, you babies can be entertained by professional, registered childminders and from the age of 2, they will be looked after alongside other child guests at the resort. Theyll be indulged in activities that will keep them busy and having fun. Older children will be invited to join in and make friends with their own age-appropriate groups, with teens not being left out. Theyll enjoy their own sports tuition, teen discos and film nights.

Sports, a fully equipped gym and treatments in the spa centre will keep adults further engaged. Water sports here include windsurfing, sailing, water-skiing and swimming, all with expert coaches provided to either teach you the basics of any given sport, or help you hone your skills. Golf, tennis, volleyball and archery are just a few of the land-based sports you can enjoy here. Of course, the brand new CREACTIVE playground, is also here to delight and enthrall you.

CREACTIVE at Opio en Provence

Set amongst the olive groves and pine forests of the south of France, not too far from Cannes, Club Med Opio en Provence is the second resort to have the brand new CREACTIVE space installed. You can learn circus activities without compromising on your playing golf time, tennis or taking guided walks around the beautiful French countryside.

Opio en Provence hasnt just had the new CREACTIVE space installed. Its recent renovation has seen many of the resorts rooms have new balconies installed and a brand new business centre created. The impressive energy wall in the business centre will supply both mobile phones and workers with energy in the form of food, drinks and charging points, while the interactive smart TV is the ideal presentation tool.

During your stay youll enjoy drinking in the hip Croisette bar and the more intimate Loup bar, dancing in the Mistral bar and discussing the days progress made on the green at the Golf bar. As for restaurants; The Provence, The Esterel and The Golf all provide guests with a variety of hot and cold international and local dishes. Again at Club Med Opio en Provence, theres a full complement of kids clubs to suit every age group.
